“The Meghalaya Icon” is envisioned as an annual state level competition
held to choose an icon for HIV and AIDS awareness in the state. This
Icon will be the Brand Ambassador for the Meghalaya AIDS Control
Society, Shillong.
This year it has been decided to make music the focus of the event, as we feel music is the one common thread that binds most youth & adults alike. Thus we will use the “The Meghalaya Icon” event and the Publicity Campaign surrounding it as the vehicle to spread the much needed information on HIV and AIDS awareness. In the future we envision an open talent competition in our search for the Meghalaya Icon.
